A delegation of Bangladesh Atomic Energy Regulatory Authority (BAERA) headed by Chairman Naiyyum Choudhury visited Rostechnadzor on May 31 to June 3, 2016. Dr. S.M. Saiful Hoque, Ambassador Extraordinary & Plenipotentiary of the PRB to Russia, also took part in this visit.The key objective of the visit was taking consultations on issues of safety review process in course of licensing Ruppur NPP siting. Rostechnadzor TSO experts shared the results of the review of applicant’s documents for a license for Ruppur NPP siting with the BAERA representatives and answered a number of questions of the Bangladesh specialists. Alexey Ferapontov presented to the Bangladesh delegation the Principles and Methods of Offsite Construction Monitoring of an NPP Generation 3+.

Summarizing the meeting, Prof. Dr. Naiyyum Choudhury extended his gratitude for the effective and fruitful cooperation established between BAERA and Rostechnadzor and aimed at transfer of Russian safety regulation expertise in atomic energy use to the Bangladesh party.Alexey Ferapontov, in his turn, reaffirmed Rostechnadzor’s commitment to rendering BAERA comprehensive support and assistance in promoting national regulatory system of Bangladesh in future.
